**Patient Fasting is Required per Quest** Preferred Specimen(s) Supernatant fluid; specify volume of blood and perchloric acid used Minimum Volume 1 mL Collection Instructions 4 mL blood collected in a sodium fluoride (gray-top) tube drawn from fasting patient without the use of tourniquet and immediately mixed with 4 mL ice-cold 7% (w/v) perchloric acid.
