Preferred Specimen(s) 0.7 mL serum or plasma collected in an EDTA (lavender-top) tube or ACD (yellow-top) or PPT (white-top) tube Minimum Volume 0.3 mL Collection Instructions Plasma: Separate plasma from cells within 2 hours of collection. Do not clarify plasma by filtration or further centrifugation. Freeze and ship frozen. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing of specimen. Note: If blood is collected in a PPT tube centrifuge within 2 hours of collection. The plasma is not required to be transferred to an aliquot tube. Serum: Allow blood to clot at room temperature and separate serum from cells within 1 hour of collection.
