Preferred Specimen(s) 1 mL whole blood collected in an EDTA (royal-blue top) tube EDTA (lavender-top) tube K2 EDTA (pink-top) tube or K2 EDTA (tan-top) tube Minimum Volume 0.5 mL Collection Instructions Transfer 1 mL whole blood to an amber transport tube. Protect from light during collection storage and shipment. Note: Use royal-blue top tube when also testing for lead. Specimen should be tested for lead first to avoid potential contamination problems.
